Item needs instructions. There are ZERO instructions in the box. I had to, not being an experienced gun guy, look up on youtube, find a similar product install, and follow it. That seems silly and unnecessary to me. The plastic spacers, well one of them, broke on me. I imagine it is a result of my doing, but without instructions, it was the best I could do. Only thing better than the rail was when I had a question about it and I called the guys who sold it to me. Got the number for the seller from the shipment, called and asked about a installation question. He didn't know the answer, but helped me contact the manufacturer. Thick New Jersey accent but nothing but Southern hospitality. Couldn't be nicer and gave me contact info for the folks they personally deal with at AimPoint. Couldn't be happier. Will buy in the future for sure...
What I have learned about this 870 quad rail, That the seller that posted the rail forgot to tell you about was if you have an aftermarket pump hand guard on the 870. you wont be able to pump or load a round in the shotgun. because of the side saddle.you will have to do some modification to the hand guard. if you want the shotgun to cycle. I don't know about you. but i didn't enjoy cutting up my $60.00 hand-guard.And it also puts about another 5 lbs on the end of the shotgun barrel. to be honest with you I would look around for another type of quad rail for the shotgun.I know there is a another quad rail out there called the war-hammer. I should of bought that instead,oh one more thing. this quad rail will tear up your hands. every time I go to my vault to get it. I grab it and what do you know a big chunk was took out of one of my fingers. the only thing I can think of to take care of that problem would be rail ladders. but those thing run about $10.00 or so per 7 inches. to cover all the the rails. you will need to buy $100.00 worth of ladders to get the job done. I'm not trying to steer you away from this quad rail. yes it looks cool but practical NO.
